LAS VEGAS- On June 21st, a group of adult performers and sex workers convened at The Slutty Poolhouse to remember their lost friend, Larissa Garcia. Adult performer Nina Nova organized the angelversary gathering, which was attended by around 15 people.
Garcia died in June 2024 after an incident while she was working as a sex worker. According to a LVMPD arrest report, her client, Jason Kendall told police he choked her for 10 minutes, had sex with her and then left. The incident occurred after Kendall had hired Garcia.
At the angelversary, attendees wrote messages to their lost loved ones who were sex workers and spoke their names aloud before releasing white star balloons in their honor.
Mistrix Sin said during the balloon release, “I just want to say that I miss Apollo and Larissa, like a lot.”
Apollo Moon was a name that reverberated throughout the space, alongside Larissa’s. Beloved transmasc adult content creator Apollo Moon passed in November after being hospitalized in the ICU on life support.
Garcia’s alleged killer, Jason Kendall was initially found unfit to stand trial and was sent to Stein Hospital for treatment, but in January, he was found competent. Kendall’s trial will begin September 22nd at 9am.
Nova said to the crowd of teary-eyed adult performers, “This matters. It matters that we care and that we show up. And that’s all I can ever ask. That we just care even when it hurts. We’re gonna be there in September.”
Sex worker advocates urge the adult industry to pack the court to display the industry’s commitment to the fight for justice for Larissa.
